Thank you. I've enjoyed all of your posts I've read, actually.

I so want to read that Fforde book and probably need to re-read Jane Eyre. Maybe I'll just rent the Orson Welles movie instead. Thanks!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6037699316934980229.post-53992482497240537462008-12-01T17:56:00.000-06:002008-12-01T17:56:00.000-06:00I saw the same movie you did. Maybe I should?

Still want to read The Eyre Affair, too.

- Cesia.
http://ceceatitagain.blogspot.comCesiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06721111189144913355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6037699316934980229.post-72431901210226402032008-12-01T00:21:00.000-06:002008-12-01T00:21:00.000-06:00I read this book for the first time last year. This is a great book that slowly builds up an amazing amount of tension.

I've only seen the A&E version with Samantha Morton. I enjoyed it, but I'll bet there are other, better versions out there.

Congratulations on finishing a Lit Flicks Challenge selection.

Jessica @ The Bluestocking Society
http://thebluestockings.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6037699316934980229.post-32116432941829163262008-11-23T13:35:00.000-06:002008-11-23T13:35:00.000-06:00I was already a huge fan of the book when I saw my...I was already a huge fan of the book when I saw my first movie adaption back about 30 years ago. It was with George C. Scott and Susannah York and it has remained my favorite version. Unfortunately the DVD version is awful. It seems all chopped up and grainy. Scott was a great Rochester - not handsome, yet somehow lovable under all that gruffness. York was plain enough and yet coolheaded enough to be convincing.hopeinbrazilhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05842290165385823751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6037699316934980229.post-49249099150228672462008-11-22T13:01:00.000-06:002008-11-22T13:01:00.000-06:00I haven't seen all of the Jane Eyre movie versions...I haven't seen all of the Jane Eyre movie versions either, but having sampled a few, I recommend the Masterpiece Theater version, in part because it encompasses more of the novel, and because both the actors playing Jane and Rochester are convincing. Other versions left me scratching my head and thinking, he's nothing like Rochester. In comparison to, say, Scorsese's skillful film adaptation of Edith Wharton's The Age of Innocence, the many adaptations of Jane Eyre show how much a great novel can consistently resist translation to the screen. The Film Doctor https://www.blogger.com/profile/03073505923746994988noreply@blogger.com
